The Mouse

Here is a true story written with Room 26's help.
On Monday morning my cat Disco brought into the house a live mouse.
The mouse got away from the cat and ran around the laundry and toilet.
Disco is so big that he had trouble running and catching it. The mouse went running up the broom handle and sat on a little hook on the wall.
The mouse also hid under the wheelie bin.  Disco just lay on the floor in front of the wheelie bin waiting  and waiting.
The clever little mouse got away by jumping through the cat door.
The End.

Yesterday after school I went to Totara Park for a bush walk.
I then went to the Weymouth Library.
I went on the computer and read some books.

Hi parents and caregivers , welcome to the Room 26 blog for 2014.
Children in Room 26 will be taking home a reading book every day to read to you. Please give them lots of praise and encouragement.
While the weather is sunny we will be swimming every day after lunch at 2pm.
It is compulsory for children to wear a sunhat every day this term. If they do not have a sun hat they will have to stay inside at playtimes.
In term 2, week 5 we will be having our annual Cross Country races at school.It would be great if you can come along and support them.

Learning social skills in Kiwican

Every week we attend a Kiwican class where we learn about different social skills. This term we have been learning about emotions, self control, actions and words. We have lots of fun in Kiwican! We play games to help us reinforce all of the social skills like honesty, working with others, self control, patience etc.

Skipping!

Room 12 loves skipping! Everyday we try to practice so we can get better and better. We have Jump Rope for Heart in week 7 so we can't wait to show all the skills we have learned!
